Beckham!! The best player in England's Euro 2000,Beckham finished the 1999-2000 season at the height of his powers.David Beckham is the kind of player that makes fans stand up. The biggest name in English football, Beckham's main attributes are shooting, in open play and especially from free-kicks, a superb range of passing, vision, composure and a dogged determination which will always threaten to spill over. Through these facets he has developed into English football's greatest player since the early years of Paul Gascoigne. In 1999, Beckham won another F.A. Cup, and came in 2nd in the European Ballon d'Or awards and as the FIFA's World Player of the Year. He also won a Champions League title, an Intercontinental Cup and an English league title that same year. The tabloids later followed Beckham off the soccer field and onto his posh wedding to Spice Girl Victoria Adams, in July 1999. In March of that year, the couple welcomed their son Brooklyn Joseph to the world. Beckham's personal life has since overshadowed the negative media stories focusing on his bad temper, shifting to stories on his rail thin wife, who is also a tabloid favorite. |

What Happens When .. . .???
When David Beckham gives another perfect pass, the United midfielder is admired by a lot. But the past weeks he usually causes anger. He already received five yellow cards and the FA warns him. If Becks doesn't change his behaviour a suspension of five duels follows. United already fined him. Beckham may be a stylist, his hard tackles, annoying behaviour, and yellow cards of the past weeks give his good play a bad look. Like in the match with Liverpool, on september 11th. Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp tackled Beckham with two legs, who reacted with a hard kick. Both players received a yellow card and were lucky to still be on the pitch. In the Champions League-duel with Sturm Graz the same happened. Beckham got irritated to fast and got another yellow card, in the second half he was lucky to not be send off after kicking Sturm Graz forward Tomislav Kocijan. Manchester United already fined Beckham with a two week salary. Manager Alex Ferguson said he was worried about the behaviour of his superstar, and hoped that a record fine would change it. Ferguson also added that the FA shouldn't interfere with Beckham and his problems. |
